Take me down to the boulevard
Almost home
Take me down to the boulevard
Then leave me alone
I got some things to think about
Things to work on
So take me down to the boulevard
Rue de Saint Jean
The show went really well tonight. I could tell that it was a sell-out, and though I generally can’t see much beyond the first five rows, I can hear when a hall is SRO or close to it.
The place was nice, the backstage staff couldn’t have been more hospitable, and the tech crew knew what they were doing.
I told a new story tonight. It started with how we would interact with Gord when it came time to arrange new tunes and ended with my family’s old Irish Setter, Doug the Dog.
Doug had a long, sharp snout. He’d stick it where he shouldn’t, like a lot of dogs do.
The end of my story involved the time Gord came over to my place.
He knocked at my screen door, and I yelled, “It’s open. Cmon in!”
Doug made a beeline crotch-high, causing Gord to do the no-no dance.
I got some good laughs and an enthusiastic round of applause when I finished.
That’s all for tonight. I’m tired.
