It’s A Wrap
Well, we finished the trip with a great show in Skokie Illinois (Chicago). Too bad there weren’t more people there to enjoy it. Don’t get me wrong, we did pretty well, but yesterday in Cedarburg, we were sold out, and it takes just one SRO to get spoiled. By the way, the picture above is of the TV screen in my hotel room. It was on when I walked in. It’s difficult to see but written across it is THE LIGHTFOOT BAND.
The trip was a success in several ways. First of all, the band is performing at a higher level than before, we made some money, and the right people seem impressed.
All of those things are good, but I live for the two hours on stage where I’m held in exquisite hostage by the sheer majesty of the dancing notes.
To call the dance a seduction is to suggest that the music itself has its own agenda. That would make for a bad episode of The Twilight Zone. A genius composer writes something so complex that after he records it digitally into his computer, it begins to create on its own. Using all the music streaming on the net as its gene pool, it reproduces exponentially.
With no natural enemies, the music becomes an invasive species. It organizes and forms a government. One of the first things it does is abolish Rap……
That sounds suspiciously like Artificial Intelligence.
Well, after posting twelve days in a row, it’s obvious I’m running out of ideas.
I hope you enjoyed this unusual travelogue. Keep checking in. After I give my brain a brief rest, I’ll be back at it.
